Camp Sooner was established in 1981. It was bought by the local Christian churches and was up and running that next summer. There wasn't any pool at the time and the kids would travel to the lake for swimming. There wasn't a place for outdoor worship so a stage was built on the concrete pad by the playground area.
Today the camp has many great features and many more planned for the future. We are currently updating the bathhouses with a full re-model including tankless hotwater for endless hot showers and motion activated fixtures for cleanliness. The dinning hall in getting top of the line heating and air installed for year round comfort. So many great things are happening at Camp Sooner. God has truely blessed our mission.
